Description

Directory listings already include the MIME content type for each entry as readable text. They should also be included in the type attribute of the anchor element so that downloaders and spiders can make more intelligent choices about which links to follow.

The attached patch to 1.4.19 does so.

While the patch is simple, would you provide some more links to info about how this is useful? Which downloaders and spiders use this information? I ask because type=... is not provided by Apache mod_autoindex, and so I am wondering if this is worth bloating the size of the response, or if this extra info should maybe be added only for specific user-agents.
