fastcgi conf with 1.5

Is there a document that explains the configuration for fastcgi for version 1.5?
Is there something like the old bin-path command or do I have to start the fastcgi by hand?
I like the bin-path idea so the I do not have to worry about unix socket permissions.

search wiki for mod_proxy_core and http://redmine.lighttpd.net/projects/spawn-fcgi/wiki helps you to start your fastcgi backends.

How do you set the mode of fastcgi? I see it in 'request_handler' but when I grep it there is nothing.
