Connection speed dropping(2Gbps)
Added by ac05 almost 15 years ago
Hello,
I am running lighttpd 1.4.20-1 on a CentOS 5 box with 48GB of ram and a raid 0 array of 10 * 1TB disks.
I am using it as a download server, files(a lot of them) having 500M-1000M and always at least 2-3000 downloaders.
Server has 2Gbps connection.
The problem i have is that the speed seems to drop, soon after the server is started.
For example, in the first minutes, the used connection is around 220M/s, and soon after drops to 140-160M/s.
If i restart it, it goes back to 220M/s when the downloaders enter, and drops again after 5-10mins or so.
Seems to be a bottleneck of some sort, not sure how i can fix it.
Seems that the RAM memory is all taken by lighttpd(48G).
Lighttpd runs with linux-sendfile as a network backend and:
@server.max-read-idle = 60
server.max-write-idle = 60
server.max-worker = 30
server.max-keep-alive-requests = 0
@
Please advise.
Thank you.

This can´t be diagnosed from just 2-3 settings you posted. We are on #lighttpd at irc.freenode.net.
If you find help there and your problem could be solved please update this thread.
