Bug #1188
closedLIghtted doesnt start on trivial issues
ASK QUESTIONS IN Forums:
Description
Hi,
Lighty has a very serious issue which prevents it from being used for shared hosting. The thing is, lighty will refuse to start if it encounters non-fatal errors. For instance, if the user-password file for dirprotect is missing. This means that it cannot be used in a commercial shared setting, since a single non-admin user can take down the entire server. This is a very critical error, and I would like to know if this can be fixed.
-----------------
opening auth.backend.htpasswd.userfile: /home/httpd/domain.com/httpdocs/__dirprotect/__stats failed: No such file or directory 2007-05-19 23:16:36: (server.c.848) Configuration of plugins failed. Going down
---------------
Thanks.

I think those checks were useful, can't you change them from errors to warnings?

The user will see them again later, when the files are really used. I'll keep it like this for now.
