On page:
http://redmine.lighttpd.net/wiki/lighttpd/Docs:Configuration
It says $PHYSICAL["path"] and $PHYSICAL["existing-path"] were introduced in version 1.5.0.

But the current version of Lighttpd is 1.4.28 according to the download page at:
http://www.lighttpd.net/download/

Is the document in error? Have these two fields been implemented yet?

I have seen references to version 1.5.0 as far back as Feb 3, 2007:

so now I am confused about what the current version is supposed to be.

My Froxlor control panel is using $PHYSICAL["path"] in the lighttpd config files it automatically builds. When these config files are loaded I am getting errors right where $PHYSICAL["path"]is.

I am running version 1.4.28.

1.5 was never released, but you obviously saw that we were working on it.
And 1.4.28 is obviously before 1.5.
So why did you expect that feature in 1.4.28?...
