Description

After starting lighttpd, it crashes after a few minutes.

I see this in the logs:

kernel: [6191692.542711] lighttpd23115: segfault at 28 ip 00007f541fc0ae7e sp 00007ffc2f4a4ad0 error 4 in mod_webdav.so[7f541fc08000+6000]

Can I get an explanation of the error?

Running on Redhat rel 6.8

  • Category changed from 3rd party to mod_webdav
  • Status changed from New to Invalid
  • Target version deleted (1.4.x)

You've said RedHat 6.8, but provided no other information. This is not a RedHat support forum. I don't have access to RedHat 6.8 or the debugging symbols for RedHat 6.8 packages such as the lighttpd package you are presumably running, but you might.

Please provide the version of lighttpd you are using (lighttpd -v) and ensure you are running the latest version of lighttpd (lighttpd 1.4.45). If not, then please file a support issue with RedHat. If you are running latest lighttpd, then please provide some data from your access log for requests that were sent to mod_webdav.

All set. lighttpd did not have permissions for the lost+found directory. Once we removed the directory from the webdav directory it stayed online.

Thank you for the update. Still, I would be interested to know what version of lighttpd you are running, as this may already have been fixed in more recent versions of lighttpd.
