The current implementation of mod_evhost is more advanced than the simple_vhost, but still lacks the ability to customize it more heavily.

I suggest using PCRE instead - so the paths can be even more dynamic.
My specific problem looks something like this:
user.domain.tld -> /domain.tld/u/s/user/
