How to do graceful restart?
Added by Geoff about 15 years ago
I've always used "/etc/init.d/lighttpd restart" whenever I make changes to my config, but then my surfers get angry at me for cutting them off. I was told that "kill -HUP <pid>" would reload my config, but it doesn't seem to do so. What am I doing wrong?
I'm using Ubuntu with lighttpd 1.4.19
Thanks in advance

Nope, thank you! Do I just put this in a .sh file and run it to restart lighttpd? Sorry I don't have much experience with shell scripts.

Noob question. Does this script works for Fedora 9? Anyone?
