Description

Hello I take a look at nginx and lighttpd / lighty at the moment. One use case would be cache which ist possible with nginx and apache, but the lighty mod_cache seems to be unsupported?

Will it alive with lighttpd 1.x or maybe lighttpd 2?
Or I' missing an supported implementation?

I know this site, but the cache module seems unsupported.
Any experience with lighttpd-improved? Known bugs?

pwFoo, not sure which "1.4 branch" it is based off of, but no commits since 2010[].

pwFoo, I've been hearing good things about https://www.varnish-cache.org/

Varnish is a great cache proxy, but have no ssl support.
Apache and Nginx offers cache plugins and also ssl support. Squid should also used as cache proxy with ssl support.
My idea was to give Lighttpd a try, but sadly the cache module isn't supported (as you wrote above, last commit 2010). ;)

At the moment I use Apache as web service and so I'll try mod_cache before I move to another service like Nginx.

Lighttpd isn't an alternative if cache is needed.
