Configuring FastCGI best practice

Added by ganeshrang almost 3 years ago

I am trying to get it working on Debian 10

I have added sym link to the 10-fastcgi.conf in the conf-enabled.

However, if I need to add executable details and other custom configuration, what's the right place to do it? I suppose not lighttpd.conf or the conf-enabled/10-fastcgi.conf files because those are likely to overwritten by new installs or upgrades?

This is not a Debian forum and is not the correct place to ask Debian-specific questions about Debian-specific packaging. Your question is clearly Debian-specific.

I suppose not lighttpd.conf or the conf-enabled/10-fastcgi.conf files because those are likely to overwritten by new installs or upgrades?

You suppose incorrectly.

what's the right place to do it?

The right place is whatever works for you, which can be established after you have tested what you think will work for you.

The short answer is that Debian rarely updates packages in released Debian versions.

Thanks. I am sorry I didnt realise it is Debian specific issue.
