Description

Using CentOS (RHEL) 4.1, I've just installed FAM, and recompiled 1.4.4 (which was working fine) with -with-fam.

Now lighttpd is not running at all - an attempt to run it "-D -f /etc/lighttpd.conf" returns straight to the command line, no error printed.

the fam-server was started as root and we can't connect to it as non-root users.

The error-msg was that the FAMOpen2() failed was printed to stderr.

Was the fam server already running before lighttpd was started ?

Ahhh, okay, it /was/ started and already running, as root. Should it be stopped and automatically spawned by lighttpd, or .. ?

Closing because it appears to have been a configuration error.
