Description

Hi,

I am having problems viewing the updated web pages in the current version of lighty.

I have had working copies using Xubuntu 14.04LTS version on various PCs but I cannot get the website to update on 16.04LTS sites. I am viewing with the latest available Firefox version.
If I run an alias light_reload
alias light_reload='sudo /etc/init.d/lighttpd force-reload'

kats@kats2:~$ light_reload
[sudo] password for kats:
[ ok ] Reloading lighttpd configuration (via systemctl): lighttpd.service.
kats@kats2:~$

it says OK but I select localhost in Firefox it shows my old intranet page whereas /var/www has the correct index.html file. It seems to be working until I updated /var/www directory with a temporary test website. The only page that is shown, is my old index.html page, the sub pages which deleted have gone. It is almost as if the index.html is in a cache somewhere.

Best Wishes
Jim R

It may be a permission issue

The lighttpd help forum is at https://redmine.lighttpd.net/projects/lighttpd/boards/2 so please don't file "bug" or "feature" requests here to ask questions.
This is not a feature request or a bug, and this is not the Xubuntu help forum, either.

One likely cause of your problems is that you haven't emptied your Firefox browser cache, and that would be an oversight unrelated to Xubuntu and unrelated to lighttpd.
