From lighttpd.conf:


## modules to load
# at least mod_access, mod_indexfiles, mod_accesslog and mod_staticfile
# should be loaded

And given:


        "mod_indexfile",

a bit later on, makes me think the mod_indexfiles is a slight typo.

this is from the wrong svn-tree

the current code is still in branches/lighttpd-merge-1.4.x/ and will be back to trunk soon.
