Prevent favicon error being recorded in the log file
Added by dcaccount 11 months ago
Hello,
I have a simple Home website with no favicons.
Every time I browse it, a few errors are logged, for instance: “GET /apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png HTTP/1.1" 404” and other similar.
Being the server protected by fail2ban, my IP address gets banned because of these “favicon” errors.
How can I configure lighttpd in order to prevent these favicon 404 errors, being recorded in the log?
Thanks for helping,
Daniele

I have not tried anything.
Hint: try something. Make an effort. What pages of the documentation did you read on the lighttpd wiki? What ideas do you have? What did you try?

If I am asking something, is because I need help and I am kindly asking for it as I am not able to do something.
I have no time to waste to answer tons of useless questions. If you know how to and want to help me, I would be grateful otherwise just do not reply. Thanks

As noted at:
How to get support
